MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Martinborough Miniature Rifle Club was held on Monday evening at the club rooms, there being a moderate attendance of members. The annual report and balance were adopted. The report showed that the club was not so successful as in .previous years, there having been quite a lot of sickness among members, but it was hoped to have a better season this year. Two minutes’ silence was observed in memory of the late Mr Ken Wright, who, it was stated was one of the club’s best workers, nothing being too much trouble for him. A vote of thanks, carried by acclamation, was accorded 40 Messrs Mason, and Michell, and Mrs Boyd for their valuable assistance to the club. Three new members, Mr Brierly, Mr Rowlands and Miss Barbara Howatt, were nominated. ' It was decided to open the club on Friday, March 31, and the president to open the range, and to fire the first shot. Two cups were kindly donated for club competition by Messrs Skilton and Little, and Mr Marflitt. Officers were elected as follow:— Patron, Mr McKay, president, Mrs Davidson; vice-presidents, Messrs S. Harvey, F. Michell, and N. Mason; club captain, Mr W. George; vice-captain, Mr S. Davidson; treasurer, Mr P. Mason; secretary, Miss S. Broughton; association delegates, Messrs D. Flynn, and E. Findlay; committee, Messrs E. Findlay, W. Bain, R. Amos, C. Skill and Mrs Boyd; cashier, Mr Amos; deputy cashier, Mr E. Fiest; club officers, Messrs W. Bain, D. Nelson, S. Harvey and F. Brassell; scrutineers, Messrs W. Bain, D. Flynn and E. Findlay; handicapper, Mr D. Flynn; auditor, Mr Michell. Personal. Mrs R. Christie, who has been the guest of Mrs L. Harris for the past six weeks has returned to Dunedin. Miss Reynolds who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs H. Hardinge, leaves today for Mt Bruce, where she will spend several days with another relative before taking up duty next Monday in the Palmerston North hospital.
