IMPORT REGULATIONS

EFFECT ON POWER BOARD. FAIR STOCKS OF MATERIAL IN HAND. (“Times-Age" Special.) Referring at today’s meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board to the import regulations, the Secretary-Man-ager, Mr G. Brown, stated: —“I am not in the position of being able to make any definite statement as to how our operations are likely to be affected by the import regulations. It does appear as if no great difficulty will be experienced in obtaining supplies for general maintenance and construction, but that supplies of many appliances and such like, may be restricted. As mentioned in last month’s report, we are holding fair stocks of most of the materials in everyday use, and these should be sufficient to see us through the period of readjustment. This refers also to poles ’in connection with which the position is now quite satisfactory.’
