A youth was drowned in flood waters ai South Johnstone and a survey patty is marooned at Jarra Creek, following on torrential rains which swept the tropical coast in the weekend. Train services in the north are disorganised and passengers are stranded. Since the new year, G 7 J inches' of rain have fallen in the Tully district, and 59 inches at Cairns. This is more than fell during the whole of last year.
