HOMING PIGEON CLUB
YOUNG BIRD SEASON.
FEILDING AND DANNEVIRKE EVENTS.
The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club opened the young bird racing season with a race from Feilding (52 miles) and a race from Dannevirke (60 miles airline). The birds were liberated in fine weather and good velocities were recorded.
fn the race from Feilding the positions for club points were:—W. J. Miller, .“‘Night Hawk,” 1; W. Steer, “Red Manfred,” 2; W. Steer, “Blue Peter.” 3; C. J. Douglas, ‘“Young Grifl’o.” 4; V. H. Stears. “White Hope,” 5; C. J. Douglas, “Mysterious,” 6.. The Dannevirke race resulted: C. J. Douglas, “Mercury,” 1; W. J. Miller, “Bonny Glow,” 2; C. J. Douglas; “Abelard,” 3; A. Miller, “Star Stranger,” 4; W. Steer, “Amigo,” 5; V. H, Stears, “Red Star,” 6.
The next race will be from Napier for the Steer trophy.
