MASTERTON SHOW

OPENING BY LORD GALWAY ON PEOPLE'S DAY.

NIGHT SESSION TOMORROW

A final reminder is given of the Masterton A. and P. Association’s annual Show, which will open at the Sol wax’ Showgrounds tomorrow. Excellent entries have been received and indications point to this year's fixture proving most successful and given continued fine weather there should be a bumper attendance on both days. Tomorrow will be occupied with the judging of the stock exhibits, while on People’s Day. Wednesday, there will b,e a full round of attractive ring events. Tomorrow night the usual night Show will be held, commencing nt 7 o'clock. The principal attractions hi the evening will be the tin hare racing and Highland dancing events. A feature of this year’s Show will be a visit from his Excellency, the Governor-General, Lord Galway, who will officially open the Show on Wednesday. Lord Galway will arrive at the Showgrounds at about 1.30 p.m.. after being entertained at lunch in town by officials of the association. In addressing the gathering at the Show, his Excellency will speak over the broadcasting system. ■ The town office of the association will be closed on both days of the Show. The time-table for tomorrow’s events is as follow: — Cattle. —To be penned at 8 a.m. Judging at 9 a.m. Sheep.—To be penned at 8 a.m. Judging at 9 a.m. Pigs.—To be in their places at 9.30 a.m. Judging at 10 a.m. Sewing and fancywork exhibits to be at the Dining Room, under Grandstand. at 10 a.m.; cooking exhibits at 10 a.m. Vegetables.—To be at the Dining Room, under Grandstand, at 9 a.m. Ring competitions.—Commence at 1.30 p.m. Sheep dog trials. —Commence at 8 a.m. in the Ring. Poultry.—To be at the Hall by 8 a.m. Judging, 9 a.m. Young Farmers’ fat lamb judging commences 10 a.m. A sale of Show stock will be conducted by the Association on the first day of the Show; at 4 p.m.
