OBITUARY

MR J. F. HENDERSON. An old and respected resident of Gladstone passed away at the Masterton hospital on Saturday in the person of Mr John Flood Henderson. The late Mr Henderson was born at Grovetown, Blenheim, 71 years ago. He left there as a youth, and coming to the Wairarapa, worked on several sheep stations in the district, and for a period he was engaged on the station of the late Sir William Buchanan. He married a daughter of the late Mr Robert Rowe, of Gladstone, and subsequently took over the latter's farm, which he had occupied for forty years. Mr Henderson had a wide reputation as a judge of Stock and dogs. He is survived by a widow, three sons and two daughters. Mrs A. Smith (Ahiaruhe) and Mrs Swanson (Gladstone) and Messrs D. and M. Henderson (Gladstone), and Harvey Henderson (South Belt Road, Masterton). Mr Thomas Henderson, of Carterton, is a brother.

The funeral took place this afternoon.
