DAIRY INDUSTRY
MEETING OF MAURICEVILLE DIRECTORS.
SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE IN PRODUCTION. ("Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the directors of the Mauriceville Co-operative Dairy Company was held yesterday, Mr V. K. Lemberg (chairman) presiding over a full board. ■ It was reported that the output of butter for the month of January was 16 tons ahead of that of last year, and that the output for the season to date was 36 tons ahead of that of last season. This was not due to an increased output by individual suppliers, but to an increase in the number of suppliers. The whole of the butterisent forward, it was stated, was graded from 94 to 95, with an average of over 94J. The advance payout approved for January butterfat was 14d per lb. The total payment for butterfat to suppliers for the month would be £15,270 7s 9d. The factory’s total paysheet for the month would amount to £17,424. Cheques would be sent out on Tuesday next, February 14.
