HASTWELL

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs Elliott presided over a good attendance of members at the February meeting of the Hastwell Women's Institute which was held on Wednesday. Arrangements were completed for the concert and dance to be held at the end of the month. » The competitions for the month resulted:—Seniors: Meringues, Miss A. Dick 1, Mrs McKay 2, Mrs Dick and Mrs Seymour equal 3. Juniors: Madeira cake, Miss K. Larsen 1, Miss O. Halberg 2. The best flower in the garden was won by Mrs Nagel 1 (phlox), Mrs Madsen 2, and Mrs Broadbent 3.

Mrs Elliott and Miss Dick who judged the competitions were accorded votes of thanks.

A game arranged by Mrs Nagel and Mrs Seymour was won by Mrs Dick, Mrs Ngatuere being second and Miss Madsen third. The hostesses for the afternoon were Misses K. Larsen and O. Halberg.
