COMPETITION WINNERS.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

The Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held the first meeting for 1939 in the hall on February 3. Mrs D. James (president) presided over a good attendance of members.

A vote of sympathy was passed to Mrs T. McLachlan in the loss of her sister.

Members were delighted to have as a visitor, Mrs Dagg, president of the Wairarapa Provincial Council of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, who spoke on matters concerning the Women’s Division. Competitions resulted as follows; — Madeira cake: Mrs C. J. Macdonald 1, Mrs Duckett 2. Hand posie: Mrs C. J. Macdonald 1, Mrs Duckett 2. Thrift article: Mrs Chorlcy 1, Mrs C. J. Macdonald 2. Single bloom: Mrs McGovern 1. Mrs Duckett 2. Three blooms: Mrs McGovern 1, Mrs Chorley 2. Mrs Dagg, who acted as judge, was presented with a posie by Mrs James. The serving of afternoon tea by Mrs McGovern and Miss Harvey concluded a most enjoyable gathering.
