GREYTOWN
GRASS FIRE CAUSES EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. PINE PLANTATION SUFFERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Extensive damage was done to a plantation on the northern side of the Greytown Fruit Co's orchard last night, when over 20 chains of pine trees were extensively damaged. The fire started in the grass and gorse on the plains, and the northerly wind carried it towards the orchard in. quick time. The staff of the orchard fought the flames till about 9 p.m.. Besides the damage to this valuable breakwind, a large number of fruit trees were destroyed. Bowling.

At Park, Page, Rees, Curtis, R. Vile (s), Brown, Day, Bunny, Carter (s). Shield team, Brunton, Burden, Nightingale, Dennes (s). Messrs R. G. Vile and W. Higgison were successful in staving off a challenge for the Grady Medals from Messrs Fuge and Rolls, of Featherston.
