MARTINBOROUGH
PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Misses Zena Jenkins, Margaret Macgregor and Betty Grant left for Wellington today to commence training at the Teachers’ Training College. Mr and Mrs W. E. Arcus and family have left on a fortnight’s holiday to be spent at Plimmerton. Miss Kennedy, of Dunedin, has joined the teaching staff of the local primary school. Mr and Mrs L. Frank have returned from a visit to the South Island. On Friday evening members of the staff of Messrs Pain and Kershaw gathered to farewell Mr R. A. Mitchell who will leave next week to reside in New Plymouth. Mr Mitchell has been a popular member of the staff since 1931. In presenting Mr Mitchell with a handsome smoker's stand, Mr Cochrane wished Mr Mitchell and family every happiness in their new home. Mr Mitchell suitably replied. Miss K. Sharp, of Wellington, was Ihe guest of Mrs A. Aitchison, Kitchener Street, for the weekend.
Misses D. Corfield and L. Philpott left today to spend three weeks' holiday at Tinopai, North Auckland. Mr K. Sutherland, of Wellington, was a weekend visitor to Martinborough.
