MARTINBOROUGH
PHYSICAL WELFARE.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the local Physical Welfare Committee was held in the Borough Office on Wednesday night, the Mayor presiding. After discussion it was decided to approach the School Committee with a request to defer the annual school picnic to a later date in February than had been decided upon. It was reported that the children’s sports would be held in the morning and in the afternoon events are to be conducted for adults. Personals. Miss Mann, of Palmerston North, has been the guest of Mrs Stephens, Kitchener Street. Mrs Warman, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs Cotter, of Oxford Street, returned to her home in Wellington today. Miss Wells is away on her annual holiday which is being spent up North.
Messrs K. and T. Foist are weekend visitors to Wellington.
Mr and Mrs T. Boyd will be guests at the Kitching—Shearer wedding which will take place this afternoon at Lower Hutt.
