AMATEUR ATHLETICS

ATTEMPT ON MILE RECORD. TO BE MADE BY W. A. C. PULLAR. W. A. C. Pullar, New Zealand Empire Games representative, has announced his intention of attempting to lower the New Zealand one mile record at present held by Randolph Rose. The effort will be made on the Park Oval next Wednesday evening at 6.40 o’clock during the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club’s weekly evening meeting.

Pullar is at present in great form and the times recorded in recent runs indicate that he has every chance under favourable conditions of bettering the existing record of 4 minutes 13 3-5 seconds.

The Masterton public should not miss the opportunity of seeing Pullar in action. The events will commence at 6 o’clock.
