THEFT OF FRUIT. (“Times-Ace” Special.) During their absence one day last week, a local resident had several trees of ripe plums taken from his orchard. The fact that both the owner and his wife are most generous and would willingly have given the fruit away, had it been asked for, makes the action even more despicable. The owner intends to take police action against further thefts. Personal Items. Miss Nancy Carlyon, who has been transferred to the Whakatane School, left for her destination today. Mr and Mrs B. Scott and family, of Gibbstown, Otago, who are on a motor tour of the North Island, were guests of Mrs J. Mutter, during the wee--.. Miss R. Russell, who has been visiting Mrs Clapshaw, has returned to her home in Lower Hutt.
