FARMERS’ UNION
WAIRARAPA PROVINCIAL .EXECUTIVE, COMING RALLY AT WANGANUI. The Provincial President, Mr Hugh Morrison, occupied the chair at a meeting of the Wairarapa Executive of the Farmers’ Union, held today. Others present were: Messrs W. J. Thomas, W. James, A. -Ross, A. J. Renall, J. L. Heckler, H. Bennett, R. W. Kebbell, R. E. Chamberlain, H., J. Hutchings, A. Linton, J. P. Peterson, J. C. Cooper, A. Forsberg, A. Campbell, and C. T. Richardson.
Advice was received from Wanganui that a monster Farmers' Union rally would be held on February 21 when amongst other things an address would be given by the Dominion President of the Union. An invitation was extended to Wairarapa members to attend the rally.
A letter was received from the Wairarapa Provincial Council of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union forwarded the following remit for consideration: “That cooks for shearers should have an award on a sliding scale so as to provide for other assistance in the home.” It was decided to refer the remit to committee set up by headquarters of the union to deal with shearers’ award.
