GREYTOWN
KEEP FIT WEEK. PROJECT ABANDONED. ("Times-Age” Special.) There were only five persons present at the meeting last night called to organise the "Keep Fit Week”. Owing to the apparent lack of interest it was decided to abandon the project in Greytown. Those present were, His Worship the Mayor, Mr A. W. Horton; Messrs N. J. Kiernan, Town Clerk, H. J. Farley, G. S. Maloney and H. G. Carter. Apologies were received from Messrs H. Harkness and J. F. Thompson. Personal Items. Mr D. Dockery, of Jellicoe Street, had the misfortune to slip and fracture his ankle. Mr and Mrs H. E. Webster and family left for Hawera by car this morning Mr Webster is to commence duties as headmaster of the Hawera School on February 1. Mr G. S. Maloney has been appointed acting headmaster of the Greytown District High School. Mr R. H. Hills, southern representa-
tive of the W.F.C.A.. with headquarters
at Greytown, left today to take up his residence in Masterton. Mr Hills will be attached to the firm’s produce department in Masterton. Mr and Mrs A. Gregor and family returned to Greytown yesterday, after a tour of the South Island.
