SEDGLEY HOME
START WITH NEW BUILDING. TO ACCOMMODATE 32 BOYS. A start has been made by the contractors with the foundation work for the new Sedgley Home building, which is to provide up-to-date accommodation for the boys domiciled in this establishment.
The new building, which will be a commodious structure of one storey, will be constructed in reinforced concrete and will have accommodation for 32 boys. There will be five dormitories, holding eight or four boys, the larger ones being for the younger children. The dining and recreation rooms will be convertible into one large room by means of a sliding door, A kitchen block and two staff rooms are also included in the new building. The present, building will be remodelled and made into an administrative block. The children of the home are due to return next week and the following week, in time for ihe reopening of the primary and secondary schools.
