Beautiful weather prevailed today in Palmerston North, where the New Zealand croquet championships were continued on greens which were as keen as they were true. An excellent class of croquet was played. Though there was a big difference in scores between Mrs Penn (Dunedin) who beat Mrs King (Palmerston North) in the final of the handicap singles (3j bisques and over), the game produced several highlights. Results:— HANDICAP SINGLES. Three Bisques and Under. Third round: Mrs Clark (owe 1) beat Mrs Baker (scr), 26-16; Miss Washer (2) beat Mrs Owen (21), 26-18. Three and a Half Bisques and Over.
