At the wool sales, 9,429 bales were offered including 3,326 from New Zealand and 7,253 were sold. There was a good selection, chiefly greasy Merinos.

Competition was active, but bids frequently were below sellers’ limits and withdrawals were frequent all round. Merinos were 5 per cent and others 5 to 71 per cent lower in price, compared with the close of last series. New Zealand slipc halfbred combing lambs, Feilding three stars, brought 10,’d to 13id.
