CLOSE GAMES

RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP DESPERATE FIGHTS TO QUALIFY. ONLY TWO TEAMS UNBEATEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 17. The annual tournament of the New Zealand Bowling Association was continued this afternoon, when the final two rounds of section play in the fours were completed. The final day’s play in the various sections was characterised by close games, with teams fighting desperately to qualify. Fifty-eight teams qualified for the post-sectipn play, a notable failure being that of Wilson’s Linwood four, title-holders last year, which, by losing the last game today, did not secure the requisite number of wins.
