YEARLING SALES

SOME PRICES AT TRENTHAM TODAY. AUSTRALIANS DOMINATE MARKET. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The national yearling sales at Trentham today attracted a large and representative attendance of buyers, with a number overseas sportsmen also present and assisting the market. Early sales include 1450 guineas paid by Mr J. T. Jamieson for a Tiderau — My Own colt, half-brother to Yours Truly. Other four-figure prices were 1,400 guineas for a Siegfried—Lilock colt closely related to Wotan and a thousand guineas for a Bulandshar — Martur colt from the same family as Nightmarch and Silver Ring, both secured by Mr C. Wheeler, Adelaide. Australian buyers dominated the market. During the morning, Mr W. J. Smith, Sydney, owner of Beau Pere, was a free buyer, his purchases including a half-sister by Fbxlight to Defaulter for 500 guineas. Mr W. R. Kemball, Melbourne, was also bidding well, and secured- several lots at reasonable prices. The Hon A. Croft, Melbourne, paid 575 guineas and 650 guineas respectively for a filly by Bulandshar —High Art and a colt by Tiderau —Slackline. Doctor Nigel Smith, Sydney, paid 900 guineas for an Iliad —Courtesy colt. Mr E. J. Watt secured a Ringmaster —Waterwings colt for 575 guineas. The best price from a New Zealand bidder was 875 guineas by Mr H. D. Greenwood for a Beau Pere —Amante colt.
