PARQUET FLOORS

IMPROVE WITH PARAFFIN. Parquet floors require a certain amount of care and attention if they are to look their best. They should not be washed, as the water sinks beneath and is likely to loosen the flooring after a time. To clean the floor, a mop liberally sprinkled with paraffin should be applied. It is amazing how this removes the dirt from the floor, while at the same time the paraffin imparts a richness to the floor which is attractive. It improves the appearance of the floor ■to use a mixture of beeswax and turpentine for polishing purposes about once a fortnight.
