CHOKING

SOME TIMELY HINTS. A particle of food lodging in the throat may cause choking in child or .adult. A small child can be held up iwith the head hanging down, which may disldge the particle. If this fails ■to give relief, use the index finger and try to hook the particle out of the throat. Use a teaspoon to force open the teeth should they be clenched. If there appears to be any danger of suffocation send for a doctor' while first-aid is being carried out, as artificial respiration may be necessary.
