DISTRICT SPORTS

LANGDALE CLUB'S ANNUAL GATHERING. KEEN COMPETITION ON SATURDAY. The Langdale Horse Sports Society held its annual gathering on Saturday in beautiful weather. Excellent entries were received and competition, particularly in the horse events, was keen and interesting throughout. In the absence of the president, Mr Hugh Morrison, the cups and trophies were presented by Mr J. B. Moodie as follow: Stock and Station Agents Cup. W. Campbell; White Horse Cup for open hunters, J. O'Brien; utility cup. E. Corlett; challenge shield, J. E. Broad; cup, maiden jump, F. Williams. An unfortunate accident occurred during the day when the secretary of the society, Mr J. Morrison, was thrown from his horse, and had to be taken to Glenwood Hospital for treatment.
