PONGAROA SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs. Dalgety & Co.. Ltd. report it the opening sale for 1939 at the Pongaroa Sale on Saturday, a good yarding of store wethers and lambs was penned to an average attendance of buyers. We report practically a total clearance under the hammer at late rates, but bidding at times was low. Our main sales were as follow: Store 2-tooth wethers, 15/-. 15/6 up to 15/1.0. A line of very good early shorn ind well-grown w.f.w. lambs made 15/-; others from 11,6 to 13/6; smaller :orts, 8/6 to 9/-; cull lambs. 5/8 to 7/4. An exceptionally good pen of 27 shorn ewe lambs made 20/-; shearling Romney ram?; 4gns,
