GREYTOWN

RENOVATION OF POST OFFICE.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

A start has been made on the painting of the Greytown Post Office. The interior of the main office is to be altered and new counters and public desks are to be installed. Bowling Singles. The final of the handicap singles was played on the Greytown green on Wednesday night, when McLeod (one life) was defeated by Higgison, who went through without a loss. Trust Lands Trustees. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Greytown Trust Lands Trustees was held last night when there were present: Messrs H. G. Carter (chairman), W. H. Day, E. Graham, H. J. Nightingale, H. Walden; also the secretary, Mr. B. Kiernan. An apology for absence was received from Mr F. Dennes. The secretary was instructed to confer with the Trust solicitors and arrange for the auction of leases immediately.

A grant of £2O was made to the Greytown Fire Brigade.

The tender of Mr. J. Brunton was accepted for the repairs to a Trust house in Wood Street.

The pine trees on the south side of the Recreation Reserve are to be cut down. Half the line has been sold to Messrs C. E. Daniell, Ltd., Masterron. Replanting is to be done immediately', A request from the Plunket Society for repairs to a fence was held over to enable the trustees to make an inspection.
