PONGAROA

FAREWELL GATHERING

(“Times-Age” Special.)

A very pleasant evening was spent in the Masonic Hall on Friday last, the occasion being a farewell to Rev and Mrs P. Wiltshire. Games and competitions were much enjoyed by the large number present. During an interval Mr W. E. Davies presented the guests of honour with a cheque. Mrs Weeds, on behalf of the Waione Women’s Institute, handed Mrs Wiltshire a lovely bouquet. Mr Wiltshire Suitably responded.

A dainty supper was served by the Ladies’ Guild, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought the function to a close.

Mr and Mrs Wiltshire are at present spending a holiday at Island Bay, Wellington, and will take up their residence in Mangaweka at the end of the month.
