GREYHOUND RACING
GATHERING AT SOLWAY SHOWGROUNDS. GOOD SPORT PROMISED On Saturday afternoon greyhound racing, fostered by the Wairarapa Coursing club will be placed before the public of the Wairarapa at the Solway showgrounds. A total of 78 entries have been received, which should go very close to being a record for any club in New Zealand. The track is in first-class order, and with the help of a little rain will improve wonderfully. Great interest is being taken, in the fact that the track record of 25 seconds (440 yards measured) held by Messrs James and Taylor’s Dainty Footsteps may be broken at this meeting. Several outside dogs may perform well namely Blackman, Tasman Flight, Mungi Taipo, as well as Rereatu, Golden King and the Slam, among a few of the Masterton owned dogs. The programme consists of six flat races and two hurdles, and as these will be run off. Commencing at 2 p.m. No delay will be occasioned to get the large programme oil' by 5 o’clock. An enjoyable afternoon’s sport is promised all who attend.
