Y.M.C.A.

CAMP AT CASTLEPOINT.

ARRANGEMENTS WELL IN HAND.

The annual camp organised by the Y.M.C.A. for the boys of the town will commence on Monday next, January 16. Arrangements are already well in hand to make this year’s camp one that will be long remembered by the boys taking part. .

Prior to the breaking up of the schools in December most of the older boys received a copy of the circular issued by the Association, and as this contained all necessary information there is no need to repeat such details here. Suffice it to say that all boys intending to enter the camp should see that their names are recorded at the Y.M.C.A. without delay, and should in addition make a point of attending the campers’ meeting to be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock. Final instructions will then be given, in preparation for the departure to Castlepoint on Monday. The secretary of the Association states that there are still several vacancies for boys, but that immediate action is called for. Applicants need not be Y.M.C.A. members, and before letting finances stop anyone, an interview with the secretary is suggested. The Masterton Y.M.C.A. is noted for the excellency of its camping arrangements and a parent could not do better than avail himself of the opportunity camping presents of giving his boy a splendid healthgiving holiday. Gifts to the camp stores are invited. These may consist of vegetables or fruit, cakes or puddings, jam, eggs, meats and groceries of any kind, and anyone with a car able to assist with transport on Monday will be greatly welcomed. Patrons are asked to get into touch with the Y.M.C.A. in connection with any of the above matters.
