GREYTOWN
FIRE BRIGADE MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Fire Brigade was held last night. Superintendent J. Good presided over a good attendance. The roll was checked for the attendance at the last fire. Superintendent J. Wood was appointed delegate to attend the Fire Brigade conference which is to be held at Wanganui. It was decided not to send a team to the next demonstration. A start will be made with the Brigade competitions on January 15, commencing at 9 a.m. A Farewell Social. A social evening was tendered to Mi" D. To Tau in the Fire Brigade Hall on Friday evening. Mr Te Tau is leaving Greytown to take an appointment in the P. and T. Department, Wellington. Knee Dislocated. Mr W. Wood, of the Greytown Fruit Co.’s stall' has had the misfortune to dislocate a knee. Grady Bowling Medals. The Carterton pair, Budd and Tucker, were successful in defeating the holders of the Grady Medals, Connolly and Carter, after a close game. The game was played in a- gale, and the issue was in doubt up to the last head, when the Carterton pair won by 18-16.
