WOMEN'S DIVISION MEETING
(“Times-Age” Special.) There was a smaller attendance than usual at the January meeting of the Tiraumea Branch of the W.D.F.U. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdamcs Wallis, C. Raleigh and Duncan. and Misses K. Wallis. N. Curtis and R. Jewitt. Visitors welcomed were Mrs R. Houlbi’ooke and Miss J. Lissette. Waipawa. It was reported that a picnic was held in the school grounds during Christmas week. The day was wonderfully fine and a good attendance was in evidence. Toys were presented to the / winners of various events and lollies and nuts distributed to all the children. Luncheon and afternoon tea were set in the hall nearby and enjoyed by all present. Visitors, who were guests at various homes, were present from several parts of the Dominion. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mi’s Hal t, Miss Harman and Mrs Graham, A raffle was won by Mrs Harman, senr. A competition held during the afternoon was won by Miss C. Jewitt. The competition for the February meeting is to be the best oven cloth, also the nicest bloom in the garden. Hostesses for next month are Miss N. Curtis and Mrs and Miss Hansen
