Many complaints were heard yesterday morning about - Carterton’s water supply. Monday was washing day and the remarks of housewives were anything but com«’hnentary to the civic authorities. z — ; inquiring, a "Times-Age” represt Ive ascertained that the cause of tn discoloured water was due to the fact that the town had ben drawing from the low pressure service, which was down low in the reservoir. 'To replenish the supply the high pressure service was again turned on after a delay in carrying out repairs. This extra pressure of water was for a time the means of stirring up the silt that was in the pipes, hence the discoloration.
