SWIMMING

MASTERTON vLUB. PROGRAMME FOR TOMORROW. On Tuesday night at 7.15 o’clock in the Dixon Street baths the Masterton Swimming Club will continue its season’s programme with the following events: —25 yards girls’ freestyle handicap; 25 yards boys’ freestyle handicap; 25 yards intermediate girls’ handicap; 50 yards intermediate boys’ handicap; 50 yards senior ladies’ handicap; 100 yards senior open handicap; 25 yards girls’ breaststroke; 25 yards boys’ breaststroke; 100 yards men’s breaststroke; 75 yards open backstroke; 100 yards teams relay; girls, boys, ladies and open dives. The carnivals will soon be starting in the district and swimmers should now be near their top form. Waterpolo is to be a feature at the fixtures arranged by the Masterton. Eketahuna, Pahiatua and Dannevirke clubs, and the first of these inter-club events is to be held at the Dannevirke Carnival on January 21, when the Masterton and Dannevirke clubs will try conclusions. In view of this match it is the intention of the Masterton Club to hold practice games after the weekly competitions and these should give added interest to the evening’s sport.
