SHOE FASHIONS
CHOOSE FOR COMFORT. It is all very well to have pretty frocks and colourful sweaters and skirts for the cooler days, but if you have not paid strict attention to your footwear, much of your enjoyment is going to be spoilt. Comfort in shoes is the main thing to be achieved, and perhaps the wisest choice are shoes with lowish heels. If you have taken only one pair for daytime wear you will be able to indulge in walking on the sands or over country roads with comfort. The same pair will be suitable for travelling to your destination, as high heels usually look out of place when worn with a suit or tailored coat, which are essential for the journey. The two-toned shoe is still as popular and useful as ever, and can be worn with almost any type of frock or suit. This season coloured buckskin and suede have been introduced in many interesting colour combinations. Coloured pipings to the soles are also new, and silver is’introduced in black buckskin and green on chestnut.
Wedgies or platform shoes are ideal for holiday wear, as they are perfectly flat as to soles, but are built up under the arches so that they are not tiring to wear as sometimes .are heelless shoes to people not used to them. Many of the season’s shoes are toeless and cut on sandal lines, but a word of warning to those who are about to purchase this type. See that the toe straps fit perfectly, for if you do not, there is danger of corns and blisters being created by tightness and rubbing.
