Officials of the State Department admitted today that Colonel Lindbergh had advised the Government that ’within a year Germany would seriously challenge the United States dominance in the world market for commercial transport planes because of her massproduction methods and pew manufacturing techniques. Colonel Lindbergh advised the United States to meet the German threat by developing a new and pimple experimental plane, models of which could be speedily produced on a mass basis in the event of an emergency. He estimated German air strength at approximately 10,000 first-line fighters and bombers, with production facilities for warplanes unequalled in the world. AUSTRALIAN PLANS BRITISH MISSION TO EXAMINE POSSIBILITIES. SCHEME OF PRODUCTION. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, January 8. The Air Ministry announces, that in response to an invitation from the Commonwealth Government, a mission will proceed shortly to examine the possibility of the production of aircraft in Australia and to prepare a scheme for it.
