The Empire Meat Council met in accordance.with the statement by the Minister of Agriculture (Mr W. S. Morrison) on December 20, discussed the mutton and lamb position and adjourned for a fortnight. The Board of Trade has promulgated an import and regulation order providing that mutton and lamb are not to be imported to the United Kingdom except under a Board of Trade licence, unless accompanied by a certificate issued by an authority which the Board recognises.
