HOUSEHOLD HINTS
Rub screw-tops of preserve jars with butter, and they will be unscrewed easily when needed. To use up odd scraps of soap, shred the soap finely into water, allowing about ; |lb. soap to a pint of water. Simmer till the soap is melted. When cold it will form a thick jelly, which can be used in many ways.
If you do not possess a vacuumcleaner, blow the dust out of wire mattresses with a bicycle pump.
