NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS

LATE SHOPPING NIGHT TOMORROW. POST AND TELEGRAPH HOURS. Housewives and others are reminded that the late shopping night will be observed tomorrow (Friday) when the shops will close at 9 o’clock. Saturday will be the half-holiday, the shops closing on that day at noon, until Wednesday next. On Monday, the Post Office will be closed in all branches. All mails for despatch on that date will close at 6.30 a.m.. and rural deliveries will be suspended. The Stronvar and Te Wharau private bag and rural services will be performed as usual. The Homewood and Tinui services will be performed on Tuesday, January 3. The telegraph •office hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m.

A counter delivery of all correspondence (including registered) will be made between 7 p.m. and 8 p.rn. on Saturday.
