CARTAGE SCHEDULE

OPERATORS AND USERS REACH AGREEMENT. Rates for the carriage of stock and general goods were agreed upon.yesterday at a meeting in Masterton of representatives of the Farmers’ Union, auctioneers, stock firms, users and operators, presided over by Mr Davis, of the Transport Department, who was accompanied by his secretary, Mr Revell, Mr A. P. O’Shea, Dominion Secretary of the Farmers’ Union, was also present. The parties concerned had a full discussion on the various items on the schedule and there was a considerable amount of give and take in evidence on the part of both sides. The agreement concerns the remainder of the present season and covers the Wairarapa district with the exception of Featherston County.
