CALVES AND LAMBS. CHILDREN’S COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual calf and lambs competitions in connection with the Greytown District High School took place yesterday. Mr T. A, Hamilton, of Martinborough, who acted as judge, made the following awards: — Calves.

Among those present was Mr Brockett. of the Education Department. At the conclusion of the judging Mill. G. Carter, chairman of the Greytown School Committee. expressed thanks to Mr Hamilton for having acted as judge of the competition. In returning (hanks Mr Hamilton congratulated the exhibitors on the fine calves and lambs brought forward. Fire Brigade Meeting. The monthly meeting of the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade was held last night when there was a full attendance of members.

The sum of one guinea was voted to the Malloy appeal. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £ll 13s 2d. The secretary was authorised to have the telephone connected to the superintendent’s residence at once. At the conclusion of the business the usual end of year supper was held.
