MacLaren, who underwent a very serious operation in Masterton last month, will be pleased to hear that she is making steady progress towards recovery. Euchre Tournament. Owing to the poor attendance at the Radio Club euchre tournament last evening only one prize was awarded. The winner was Mr J. Cowperthwaite. Matriculation Examination. The University Entrance examination (maticulation) is being held in the Parish Hall this week under the supervision of the Rev F. O. Ball. There are six of the High School pupils sitting for this examination. Presentation to Miss M. Davey. At a gathering of the members of the Radio Club last evening, the club president, Mr R. J. Wright, presented Miss Maud Davey, who will leave for Christchurch on Saturday', with a crystal vase, extending the club’s best wishes for her future. Miss Davey suitably thanked members for their gift. Children’s Pantomime. There was a good attendance at the pantomime “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” which was produced by Mrs S.
