GIRL GUIDES.
1 MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Girl Guides was held at the residence of Miss Card on Saturday afternoon. Miss Card was in the chair and others present were Mesdames R. Foss, H. Clark, Houston, W. Fellingham, Arch. Clark, Cole and S. Raper. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Sharp, Chisholm, Pope, Allen, Lawson, Bloxam, Hardie, Barnard. Arrangements were made for the afternoon tea stall for the garden party which is -to be held at Longwood on Saturday, December 17, in aid of the funds for the Guide camp to be held in January. The resignation of Miss Barnard was received and accepted with regret. It was decided to ask Mrs Harkness to fill the vacancy on the committee. Six new members were added to the committee. After the meeting Miss Card provided afternoon tea. Cricket Match. In the cricket match played between Featherston and Pirates, Featherston scored 105 and Pirates 76. The best scores were made by Bartlett (45) and Campbell (22) for Featherston and Erskine (20) for Pirates. A brilliant catch by P. Ritchie ended the innings of Erskine.
