SOLWAY OLD GIRLS
FINAL MEETING OF YEAR. AN IDEAL SETTING. The home of the president (Mrs Eric Shaw) at Te Ore Ore, surrounded With its beautiful gardens and lawns, was an ideal setting for the final meeting of the year of the Wairarapa branch of the Solway Old Girls’ Association held on Saturday afternoon last. The meeting was largely attended by members from all parts of the Wairarapa. A garden putting competition, which was won by Mrs H. Parsons, Martinborough, afforded much amusement. A dainty afternoon tea brought to a close the many happy social gatherings which have been held at regular intervals throughout the year. ANNUAL DINNER. The year’s activities reached a climax on Monday night with the annual dinner which was held at the Empire Hotel, the hostesses being the president, Mrs Eric Shaw, and the secretary, Miss, Annie Tregurtha. During the evening the opportunity was taken by the secretary of making a presentation to Mrs Shaw in recog l nition and appreciation of the services rendered by her to the branch. At the conclusion of the dinner memoers were entertained at a picture party at the Regent Theatre. Among those present were: Mesdames T. A. Cunningham, H. Parsons, I. Tweedy, T. Boyd, Misses J. Douglas, N. Ractliffe, G. McTaggart, J. Judd, M. Rowlands, N. Thompson, P. Nikolaison, M. McClymont, L. Jury, F. Mitchell, B. Taylor, J. Wrigley, N. Bannister, J. McGregor, J. Burton and B. Percy.
