BOY SCOUTS. DISTRICT RALLY NEXT MONTH. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday, December 10. the district scout rally, at which troops from Eketahuna to Martinborough (inclusive) will be present, will be held on the Eketahuna Domain. The Dominion Commissioner, Mr Christie, and the District Commissioner, Mr N. Shepherd, will be in attendance. Mr R. Payne will be in charge of the arrangements for the day. The local scouts will demonstrate tent pitching, rope knotting, signalling, trestle building and first aid, and the cubs skipping, ball games, relay races, exercises and tableaux. A meeting is to held tonight to discuss the question of erecting a building for the use of the local scouts. Points Scored by Cricket Teams. The points scored by the teams in the Bush senior competition are as follow: Pahiatua 8 points, Eketahuna 6 points. Mangamaire 3 points. Manson and Barr Cup. The Pahiatua rink which visited Eketahuna for the Manson and Barr Cup was unsuccessful, the holders winning by 23 to 18. The rinks were as follows: Pahiatua: Smith, Davey, Hodd and Kershaw (s). Eketahuna: Green, Mandsley, Hornblow and Hooper (s). School Calf Judging. Mr E. S. Holdaway judged seven calves at the Mangamaire School on Monday for the annual calf-judging competition. Miss Joan Fisher was placed first with her brindle halfbred calf and also won the Ralph Familj' Cup, which she holds for a year. Konini School was next visited and Miss Joyce Jensen, with her fine Jersey calf, was placed first, Marion Jensen second, and Joyce Grouble third. There were five competitors. In the condition and command section Joyce Grouble was placed first. ST CUTHBERT’S CHURCH. - ANNUAL NOVELTY SALE. A very satisfactory sum of money was obtained as the result of the annual novelty sale held by the ladies' auxiliary of St Cuthbert’s Church. The stall holders were as follow: Tea rooms, Mesdames Toohill, McLellan, Fauvel and Miss A. Simmers. Sweets: Misses Herbert and Greathead. Hoopla: Mesdames Albrechtsen and S. Daniel. Lawn-mower: Mrs Macky. Cake? Mrs Turnor and Miss Anderson. Produce: Mesdames Gray and Tolley. Plain: Mesdames Coster and Price. Fancy: Mesdames Murray Aynsley and Bowering. The competitions were won as follow: Mrs A. S. Carter, 465 peas. Stool, Mrs A. Mason, 154 yards string. Dinner, Miss S. Rogers, 760 beans. Nightdress, Mrs Bowering, 997 maize. .
