GREYTOWN

AGRICULTURAL CLUBS. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. ■ (“Times-Age” Special.) The committee of the Wairarapa Girls’ and Boys’ Agricultural Club met at the Greytown School on Monday night. There were present: Messrs Keats (chairman), and E. McKenzie, Fisher, McLauchlan, Jreland, Donald, Blatchford, Mills, Brockett, Kirlton, Webster and the secretary (Mr G. S. Maloney). An apology for absence was received from Mr Reynolds. A vote of sympathy was passed to Messrs Reynolds and Webster jn their recent bereavements. Mr Blatchford was appointed to judge the champion lambs. It was decided to draw up a complete set. of rules for the lamb competitions. These will operate next year. The secretary gave a full report on the root crop competition, and it was agreed that red carrot replace white on future occasions. Mr H. W. Feast intimated his willingness to act at the championship judging. It was decided that owing to the issue of diplomas and seals that in future no miniature cups will be presented. Mr Brockett was accorded a' hearty vote of thanks for his donation of a handsome cup and miniature. The committee decided to purchase another championship cup so as to have two for each group, grade and purebreds. ‘ ■ The secretary was instructed to write to the. headmasters and arrange a suitable date foy the secondary boys judging competition. Mr Field, of Moroa, is to supply stock for this competition. The Wairarapa A. and P. Society have given the use of their grounds for the championship judging. The secretary was authorised to provide refreshments for the competitors. Mr Fisher offered to get the judging rings roped off and to marshal the different groups for judging. Mr Mills is to supervise the lambs competition. The members of the Young Farmers’ Clubs are to be invited to attend the judging. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the Grey town School Committee for the use of a room.
