IDEATH OF MR ARTHUR TOOKER. AN OLD WAIRARAPA SETTLER. ("Times-Age” Special.) The death occurred last night of an old and highly respected settler of the Wairarapa in the person of Mr Arthur Tocker, •of Lowlands, The late Mr Tocker, who was a bachelor, was the youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Josiah Tocker, pioneer settlers of the district, and was 72 years of age. He was one of fifteen children, and is survived by his brother, Mr J. Tocker, of Kaiwaiwai. He was a well known breeder'of Clydesdales, Ayrshires and Romney Marsh sheep, being a' very successful exhibitor at Shows throughout the Wellington Province. For about 30 years he had been a director of the Featherston Dairy Company. SCHOOL ASSOCIATION. FINAL MEETING OF YEAR. The final meeting for the year of ;he Home and School Association was neld last night, Miss Card presiding. There were also present Mesdames Aalpin, J. Buck, Saunders, Carlyon, McKenzie, Lawson, Rea, Messrs Hayes (headmaster), Allen, Lowell, Cole and Kilsby. An apology for absence was received from Mr N. C. C. Shepherd. It was decided to hold a demonstration on “Parents Day,” December 13, of a Duplicator and if satisfactory the Home and School Association and the School Committee will purchase one cor the use of the school. The Dental Clinic wrote asking for assistance with produce for their shop day, December 16. Mr Hayes, on behalf of the School staff, wished the members of the Association the compliments of the season and thanked them for their help. DEATHS IN HOSPITAL. MRS BEVER AND MR LORENZEN. The death occurred at the Greytown hospital yesterday morning of Mrs Anne Grace Bever, wife of Richard E. Bever, of South Featherston, and daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Robert Gillies, of Greytown. Mrs Bever had been in indifferent health for the past fewmonths and recently entered the. Greytown hospital for treatment. Mr Bever and three young children are left to mourn their loss. The funeral took place today at Grey town. At the Greytown hospital yesterday the death took place of Mr Ernest C. Lorenzen, of Featherston, at the ago of 38 years. He was a married man and was employed by the P. and T. Department as a temporary linesman. The cause of death was pneumonia. He leaves a wife and three young children. He was a son of the late Mr C. Lorenzen and Mys Lorenzen who lives in Carterton. He leaves three brothers, Henry, Carterton, Rupert, Nelson, and Walter, Raglan, and one sister who resides in Nelson. Mr E. C. Lorenzen lived for many years in Kaiwaiwai. The funeral it timed to leave his mother’s residence, Seddon Street, Carterton, tomorrow at 1.30 o’clock for the Clareville Cemetery. Mr Lorenzen was a member of the Greytown Lodge of Odd Fellows and the funeral will be an Odd Fellows’ one. Personal. Constable McNamara has found it necessary to enter the Masterton Hospital for medical treatment. Mrs Durrad (Khandallah),. Mrs Le Grove (Auckland) and Mrs Lomas (Ngaio) were visitors to Featherston yesterday. St John’s Choir. Several members of St John’s Church choir, together with the Rev J. T. Holland, journeyed to Martinborough last night to take part in the Patronal Service held in the Anglican Church.
