WHEAT PRODUCTION
IN FACE OF SHRINKING WORLD MARKET DEMAND BY THE PREMIER OF MANITOBA. AGREEMENT EETWEEN COUNTRIES CONCERNED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) OTTAWA, November 29. Before the Royal Commission investigating Dominion provincial relations, the Premier of Manitoba, Mr John Bracken, demanded a definite national policy regarding the increasingly grave world wheat situation. He asked how Canada could continue to find markets for two-thirds of its wneat in face of steadily shrinking world markets. If she had known of this situation thirty years ago, she would not have developed half her present wheat acreage. If the present situation were not remedied, a quarter of a million farmers may cease sowing wheat and seek tne dole. If the world would not take the wheat tnat was being grown, Canada should seek a planned arrangement with Australia, the Argentine and the United States for limited production. The alternative was to go on fighting each other for what market was left.
