WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT GLADSTONE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a small attendance of members at the November meeting of uie Gladstone Women’s Institute. The Flower Show balance sheet was presented by Miss Turley. Reports of judges remarks and hints to exhibitors were given by the stewards of the various sections. The report of the last meeting of the Bush Wairarapa Federation which took place in Eketahuna was given by Mrs Smith, and that of the formation meeting of the Wairarapa Federation in Masterton by Mrs McKay. Mrs Munn, of the Solway-Manaia Women’s Institute, then demonstrated her miniature gardens to a keenly interested audience. Competitions resulted as follows: — Best bloom, senior: Mrs W. S. Smith 1, Mrs R. Cooper 2; junior, Miss A. Bubb 1, Miss N. Wyeth 2. Collars and cuffs, junior, Miss N. Wyeth 1, Miss A. Bub’b 2.
