OUTRAGES CONTINUE
HOSPITALS LEFT WITHOUT STAFFS MANY JEWS HIDING IN WOODS OTHERS SITTING DAZED IN HOMES. CONCENTRATION CAMP HORRORS By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 13. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Berlin correspondent says only four doctors are left to attend hundreds of patients in the largest Jewish hospital. Two clinics are without doctors. The arrest of Jewish lawyers has left their compatriots legally defenceless in connection with the Aryanisation of businesses. Relief organisations are at a standstill, leading to the greatest distress. Tubercular patients at Soden Sanatorium were turned out to fend for themselves. An orphanage at Caputh was closed at half an hour’s notice. Outrages continue at Glogas and elsewhere. Many Jews are hiding in the woods in the hope of crossing the frontier. Others sit dazed in their homes, dreading a summons to concentration camps. One hundred and fortysix Jews were beaten to death in the Buchemwald Camp from June to August. Scores of Berlin Jews have preferred suicide.
JEWS IN AUSTRALIA RABBI URGES MEN TO JOIN i MILITIA. DEMONSTRATION OF LOYALTY TO EMPIRE. (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Rabbi L. A. Falk has issued an appeal to Jews in Australia to respond wholeheartedly to the call of the Australian Government for men to join the militia. Rabbi Falk says: “Let us demonstrate in this concrete manner bur love for and loyalty to the country which has given us shelter and protection, and which is manifesting so humane an attitude to our brethren who flee from lands of persecution and savage oppression. Let us remember that the destiny of Israel is closely linked with the wellbeing of the British Empire.” SPECIAL PRAYERS. PROCLAIMED BY RABBINATE. (Received This Day, 1.25 p.m.) JERUSALEM, November 13. The Rabbinate, asking world Jewry to do likewise, has proclaimed special prayers for German Jewry on November 14. CHARGE OF COMPLICITY AGAINST GRYNSZPAN’S RELATIVES. POLICE SEIZE DOCUMENTS. (Received This Day, 1.25 p.m.) PARIS, November 13. Abraham and Chana Grynszpan, aunt and uncle of Hersshel Grynszpan, have been rearrested on a charge of complicity on the murder of Dr. von Rath, which was substituted for a charge of harbouring an undesirable. The position is incorrectly stated in an earlier cablegram. A famous advocate, Maitre de Morogiafferi, has undertaken the defence of Grynszpan’s aunt and uncle. The police seized a number of German and Yiddish documents at the latter's home.
