CHILD’S' DEATH

INQUEST ADJOURNED SINE DIE An inquest was opened on Saturday afternoon concerning the death of Mervyn. Flutey, aged 14 months, son of Mr and Mrs J. A. Flutey, Pukid, Featherston. The child was playing in the kitchen and during the absence of its mother in another part of the house, drank some kerosene out of a bakingpowder tin. The child was removed to the Masterton Hospital, where it died at 12.50 p.m. on Saturday, an hour after its admission. Evidence of identification was given by the child’s mother, and the inquest adjourned sine die. Mr E. G. Eton, coroner, presided.
